This 1987 Crown Victoria pictured above was first owned and operated by the
Winston-Salem, NC Police Department. After being decommissioned, it was purchased by
Diversi Fleet, Inc, and then sold to Gonzaga University for use in their campus
patrol duties. As seen above, the Crown Victoria is equipped with all functioning emergency
equipment is powered by 351W-V8, and currently has 95,000 miles.
Ready to Roll in their '87 WSPD Crown Victoria!
On scene are several '87 Winston-Salem Crown Victorias.
WSPD Units #1146 and #1144 are pictured (Left to Right) above as they are prepared
to be stripped of their emergency equipment just before the auction. Pat's car,
#1145 was companion to the vehicles pictured above. Note Diplomats used by WSPD
during that time.
Pat's '87 began its assignment with WSPD as a line supervisor's (Sgt) vehicle
Unit #61 in July of 1987. It was later reassigned as Unit #101. The '87 was
taken out of service in June of 1990. It was then assigned to the WSPD Driver
Training program as Unit #1145 where it served until it was auctioned to Diversi Fleet
in October of 1990 at 55,691 miles. Unit #1145 is pictured above as it sits awaiting
the auction.
The 1987 Crown Victoria is currently under restoration back to its original
condition as a Winston-Salem PD car. Keep watching for our progress reports.
